When It comes to tutor lessons, almost 90% of people will think about face to face tutoring. However, there are a lot of people forgetting about the fact that tutor lesson can be conducted remotely online. EOK’s remote session benefited me a lot during my studies whilst I was in the UK. Being 6000 miles away from UK, Dr Ma could still apply his Targeted Achieve Programme (TAP) strategy and help me on my studies and exams during term time. From the bottom of my heart, I truly believe that EOK’s remote sessions are absolutely fantastic, beneficial and meaningful as the teachers from EOK are willing to go an extra mile further for all of their students in helping them to achieve their goals.

The EOK online lessons were instrumental for my A-Levels and other exam preparations. Although I was originally nervous about the online lessons, I quickly realized that they were as effective as physical lessons while having the benefit of working from the comfort of my room. EOK online lessons were always highly interactive with abundant past paper questions, which helped me to consolidate everything I learned in school and deepened my understanding. All the teachers I have encountered were super supportive and very patient with any questions I had. The EOK programs not only helped me to excel academically but also helped me to gain confidence at the personal level which was essential to endure through the stressful exam seasons.

My school has provided online education as an alternative teaching mode due to the pandemic. Yet, I have observed that content delivery is less effective and the communication between teachers and pupils is problematic on some occasions. From my own experience, lessons tend to be shorter and briefer as well, which means that less topics are covered thoroughly. Some teachers dwell on a topic too long and struggle to finish the whole syllabus. I also find it harder to concentrate during online lessons even though I isolate myself from possible interruptive surroundings.
EOK provides online learning which alleviates these concerns. They engage with students during and out of lessons in order to make sure that the pupils can fully grasp the material taught and are feeling comfortable with the pace of their education. Lessons take place in zoom meetings which are almost identical to the physical learning experience at the centre. There is an element of active learning as the students are assigned to complete a programme regarding the topic they have learned. Furthermore, the learning objective is more centralised and not to mention the convenience of only attending a zoom meeting rather than traveling to the institute to achieve a rewarding tutoring experience. Personally, I find this learning mechanism a very effective delivery of knowledge, and especially during this time of crisis, when we, teenagers are rotting in boredom at home for social distancing. It is always nice to learn something new and cement our knowledge in preparation for the new academic term. Overall, my academic experience at EOK has been truly fruitful and rewarding, and I definitely recommend remote learning as an alternative to reignite pupils’ passion for learning during these difficult times.
